Memorial Day Fun

I went to the parade in Fairfield today. I haven't been in a few years and I forgot how much fun it is. I scored a shady spot near the Burr Mansion and had a great time seeing so many familiar faces.

Nothing says Memorial Day like Sponge Bob on a stick.

Three generations of Deers! Dad, Pete and Peti :).

Check out this little guy!

I love this shot of my friend Betsy working hard to get ID's. And people just think we click the shutter!

The Ancient Mariners! My absolute favorite.

Doug Munson in one of his classic cars.

Flappers from the Fairfield Museum.

No wait.....the Shriners are definitely my favorite.

B.B. tackles my nephew.

Grandpa and the boys.

My friends Mick Reed and Keith Erickson, both members of the Easton Banjo Society, worked very hard to put this float together. They did a fantastic job!

I stopped for a visit with the Reeds and the Ericksons.

Lucinda and William....that Lucinda could undoubtedly charm the pants off of anyone.

Until next year.....

Peace!

Quality Colson time

My husband's cousin Caitlin introduced us to her brand new baby boy Noah yesterday. We enjoyed an afternoon with him as well as little Maggie and Gracie---daughters of Steve's other cousin Dave. It was a rollicking good time. Welcome to the family, Noah!

Steve has a new best buddy.

A new King of the Dimps!

Snack time.

Gracie: "Please, sir. I want some more!"

Done.

My iris

I have one single all-purple iris in the shady corner of my backyard. It is absolutely stunning in full bloom.

Warm and buzzy

The bees were loving my rhodies on a balmy, lazy evening last night. The light was so beautiful.

Mother's Day play

I spent a chilly Mother's Day outside with my nephews yesterday. The afternoon was filled with lots of Wiffle ball and fishing in my aunt's brook. Our casting efforts turned up fruitless but we had lots of fun regardless.

Auntie Janie baits David's hook.

Waiting patiently for a bite.

David and Peti get a snag...on each other's lines!

This cardinal was trying to hone in on our bait supply.

David reels in his biggest catch of the day :).
