What a way to vacay!

Yes, yours truly has been on vacation all week and I thought I'd present a melange of snaps from my siesta. Starting off, I spent an afternoon clowning around with my nephews.

Go Fish anyone?

Bring on the cupcakes and ice cream!

Peti prepares for his cameo in a Marilyn Manson video

Dave takes a ride on his sugar high!

A few of my work buddies came over for dinner one evening. The tiki torches were ragin' and the sangria was flowin'!

On Saturday I hosted a picnic for the fam.
Kids + waterballoons = instant mayhem!

After the picnic, Steve and I headed over to our friends Matt and Wendy's house for a little firework action. Matt never fails to provide full-on pyrotechnic joy for everyone!

A little grubbing ensued while waiting for total darkness.

Time for the show to begin!

The residual smoke from the fireworks made for quite the atmosphere. I felt like I was in Casablanca!

Oooh......aaah!
Matt as the Burning Man

Wendy looking gorgeous in the firework light
"Under the table".........sort of the theme of the night

This shot of the smoke was the hit of the night. SPOOKY!!

More weddin' snaps

Steve and I went to wedding #2 of the summer yesterday at the Water's Edge resort in Westbrook, CT. One of Steve's oldest and best friends was the groom and I brought my trusty point-n-shoot with me...well maybe not so trusty as of late considering all of my images have been coming out soft---GRRR! Aside from that frustration, the wedding was amazing----the happy couple was beaming, the weather was picture perfect and the food was to die for. And the best part about the day you ask? The ceremony was at 10am which meant cocktails at 10:40---NICE!

Congratulations Joey and Denise!

Oh, the antics!

We were fascinated by this dude. His yellow frames matched his shirt. Sweet!

Karen and my Steve

I love this shot. Fun!

My little camera has a video option but unfortunately, it doesn't have audio. Here are a few clips from the day. The first is of the one and only Lenny Finelli, a 17 year-old bundle of wit, energy and hilarity who we were lucky enough to share a table with. He, along with his grandmother Susie, were the best company we could've asked for. Here's Lenny in action:

And here, the boys were running amok on the dancefloor.

Hell Week

The onslaught of graduations continues. Those of us in the photo department affectionately call it "Hell Week". There were nine to cover on Tuesday night. Unbelievable. Here are a few from Fairfield Ludlowe and Staples in Westport.

And c'mon----the tassel is brilliant!

I love to call the Staples graduation "Flourencement Exercises". Every year they have it in the dungeon field house no matter how beautiful the weather is. It stinks! I think this shot is kinda fun though.

Honoring Ol' Glory

On Saturday at Seaside Park in Bridgeport, Sikorsky Aircraft hosted the 5th Annual Sikorsky Memorial Tribute Flag Day Spectacular to honor Connecticut's fallen soldiers and to pay tribute to all veterans. As part of the ceremony, members of the U.S. Army Black Daggers Parachute Team descended upon the event. They were amazing!

WEEEEEEE!

Ripe for the picking

I had to cover our annual strawberry picking story yesterday at the beautiful Jones Family Farm in Shelton. The light was horrendous (midday, over-head hell) but I tried my best to make it work.

I just couldn't seem to get into a groove while I was there. I wasn't happy with anything I was shooting (mostly because of the horrible light) and when I turned around, she appeared. The golden haired, mini-Janice Joplin donning the most brilliant chapeau I've ever seen. Score!
